ID Released For 28-Year-Old Woman Killed In Southern State Parkway Crash

Authorities have identified a Long Island woman who died in a crash on the Southern State Parkway.

The wreck occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, March 4, in the eastbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway near exit 41 in Islip.

On Wednesday, March 6, New York State Police identified the victim as 28-year-old Stephanie Malone, of Ronkonkoma.  She was the sole occupant of a Nissan Altima.

No other injuries were reported. It was not immediately clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.

The incident fully blocked the eastbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway, as well as the westbound left lane, for several hours.

Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dash cam footage, to contact the agency at 631-756-3300.

Malone had worked at St. Tereiza Physical Therapy and Rehab in Centereach since August 2023, according to her Facebook profile.
